Who AI assistants recommend, city by city
Every month Mador asks ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Perplexity the same questions, by category, city and language, and counts what they say. The Index boils it down to one row per city: in Roma, in October 2026, 13 of 20 answers recommended at least one estate agency.

- The share of answers that recommend at least one real business in the category, with the range the true value sits in.
- Who gets recommended: only the top few. Chains always appear; other businesses only when the answer genuinely recommends them or when they have consented. Anyone the answer advises against is never named.
- Which sites the assistants read to answer, by type: business websites, portals, reviews and maps, news, public bodies.
- How many answers link to the business's own site and how many to a portal.
- The gap from the national average and the change on the month before, with its range.
- How many assistants answered, how many answers, and the date of the latest one.

How it is counted
- For each city, language, question and assistant we keep the latest answer of the month, so a repeated question carries no extra weight.
- The range allows for the four assistants answering the same questions: the same method as Mador's data pilots.
- A row with fewer than ten answers or fewer than three questions still ships, flagged as low confidence, and stays out of the monthly change.
- Files come as CSV and JSON with a column dictionary, and can be resold under your own name.
